This role is hybrid, 4x a week onsite in Hollywood.
The team is looking for someone with experience in Employee Relations, around 3-5 years is ideal. No degree is required
They would like someone who has worked with large organizations in the past doing similar work, industry is not as important. Target, other Theme parks, large warehouses, hospitality, etc.. are all good industries for this role
The team would also like to know the candidate's experience working with Legal teams for investigations
This is not necessarily an ideal fit for someone who worked in loss prevention, banking fraud, etc..
This person should be a self started, have great time management, should know when/how to escalate
Union experience could be a positive, but is not required.
 

Manager, Employee Relations - UDX 

The Manager, Employee Relations & Investigations - Universal Destinations & Experiences will thoroughly and expeditiously investigate Team Member concerns in a fair, unbiased, and consistent manner. The ideal candidate will need to have significant experience operating in a fast-paced and guest-facing environment and possess a strong investigative skill set working in Union and Non-Union organizations. We're seeking innovative solution seekers, natural collaborators, Team Member advocates, and culture architects to enable our Teams, partners, and business to do and be their best. 

  • Responsible for autonomously conducting in-depth interviews and investigations of highly sensitive and complex allegations, including gathering and evaluating information; preparing reports, determining facts; conferring with managers about issues to creatively resolve problems, and answering questions regarding HR processes specific to investigations and discipline; assisting with the preparation of disciplinary documentation. 

  • Develop and implement standardized processes for conducting investigations and tracking, and documenting employee relations claims and cases. Maintain detailed and accurate accounts of investigations with timely memorialization of the notes and supporting documents into a centralized system. 

  • Analyze aggregate casework data to identify issue trends and opportunities for proactive issue mitigation. 

  • Partner in analysis and revision of Team Member programs, policies, and practices to sustain a positive work environment. 

  • Provide counseling, advice, and guidance to Management and HR business partners in dealing with complex or sensitive employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent enforcement of policies and practices. 

Qualifications 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or related field required. 

  • Extensive knowledge of applicable state and federal employment and labor laws and governmental compliance requirements. 

  • 5+ years of increasingly responsible Human Resources generalist experience, including experience with employee relations processes/activities. 

  • 3+ years of experience handling complicated employee investigations and collaborating with legal counsel to document and ensure timely resolutions with investigations. 

  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to earn trust and work successfully on a wide range of Team Member issues. 

  • Exceptional prioritization and time management skills. 

  • Ability to work independently. 

  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills. 

  • Sensitive to deadlines and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously. 

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. 

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Desired Characteristics: 

  • Advanced degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or related field. 

  • Demonstrated ability to drive HR processes and to deliver high-quality HR services in a fast-paced, high-change, matrixed environment. 

  • Proven facilitation, influencing, and conflict resolution skills. 

  • Demonstrates vertical flexibility - ability to shift focus from big picture to "getting things done" as necessary 

  • Experience with a case database, such as Oracle, CaseIQ, or iSight. 

  • Experience in union/represented environments or the hospitality industry is highly preferred. 

  • Ability to develop integrated solutions from inception to post-delivery assessment. 

  • Occasional flexibility with working weekends and holidays, if needed.
