    Description

    Under the direction of the Human Resources team, the HR Intern participates in a structured learning experience designed to provide practical exposure to human resources operations within a healthcare environment. The intern assists with routine administrative activities, organizational initiatives, research, and special projects while developing an understanding of HR practices, systems, policies, and professional standards. The position may support activities related to Oracle Fusion implementation and other departmental priorities under appropriate supervision.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Participates in orientation, training, job shadowing, and other learning activities to develop an understanding of Human Resources operations and practices.
    • Provides administrative and project support for Human Resources activities under the direction of HR team members.
    • Assists with routine departmental processes while HR staff participate in Oracle Fusion implementation meetings, testing, and training, and other organizational initiatives.
    • Assists with reviewing, organizing, maintaining, and auditing employee files and documentation in accordance with established procedures.
    • Supports onboarding activities, including preparing materials, reviewing documentation, and assisting with new hire paperwork and processes.
    • Enters, reviews, and updates employee information within HR systems under appropriate supervision.
    • Assists with preparing reports, spreadsheets, correspondence, presentations, training materials, and other departmental resources.
    • Participates in special projects, process improvement activities, and research assignments designed to provide exposure to different areas of Human Resources.
    • Observes or participates in meetings and departmental activities, as appropriate, to gain an understanding of HR's role within the organization.
    • Seeks Feedback, asks questions, and applies learning to assigned responsibilities and projects.
    • Demonstrates professional communication, dependability, initiative, and a willingness to learn.
    • Maintains confidentiality of employee, patient, and organizational information.
    • Supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic's mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and service expectations. Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements. Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency standards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or job performance.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned or as needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education

    • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.

    Experience

    • No previous Human Resources experience required. Previous office, customer service, administrative, healthcare, or project experience, preferred.
    • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and comply with organizational privacy and information security requirements.
    • Must demonstrate professional communication, dependability, and willingness to learn.

    Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered
