Location: Huntley. Illinois
We are partnering with an established commercial construction company seeking a bilingual HR – Culture & Care Manager to take ownership of the people side of the organization.
This is not a traditional corporate HR role. The company is looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people, building relationships and creating an environment where employees feel supported, respected and heard.
With a workforce that includes both English- and Spanish-speaking employees, being able to communicate comfortably in both English and Spanish is essential. This person will be visible and accessible across the organization, building relationships with field employees, supervisors, office staff and leadership.

Communicate effectively with employees in both English and Spanish
Build relationships with employees at all levels of the organization

Support recruiting, onboarding and new-hire integration
Help ensure Spanish-speaking employees have clear access to company information, policies, benefits and HR support
Manage employee relations and address workplace concerns fairly and constructively

Support communication between leadership, field employees and office teams
Assist with workforce planning and staffing needs
Handle sensitive employee matters professionally and confidentially
Support HR compliance and consistent employment practices
Work with leadership on compensation, benefits and employee programs
Spend time with employees in the field and office rather than operating solely from behind a desk
Culture & Employee Care
A major part of this position is making sure employees have someone within the organization they know, trust and feel comfortable approaching.
The HR – Culture & Care Manager will take the time to understand employees, listen to concerns and help resolve issues before they become larger problems.
Being bilingual will be particularly important in creating that connection. The goal is to ensure that language is never a barrier to an employee feeling informed, supported or valued by the company.
This person will help leadership continue building a culture that attracts good people and gives them a reason to stay.
What We’re Looking For
Fluent/bilingual English and Spanish – required
Previous HR experience, ideally within commercial construction, roofing, skilled trades, manufacturing or another field-based environment
Experience supporting both hourly/field and salaried employees
Strong understanding of employee relations and practical HR processes
Comfortable interacting directly with field employees, supervisors and senior leadership
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Able to handle difficult and confidential conversations professionally
Experience with recruiting, onboarding, benefits and employee development
Organized and capable of managing multiple HR responsibilities
Approachable, practical and solutions-oriented
Comfortable being visible in the field and developing relationships with crews
Someone who believes HR should support employees while also understanding the needs of the business
Experience working within a union environment is helpful, but this position is broader than labor relations. The focus is on the people who make up the organization and creating a strong connection between employees and leadership.

$90,000–$115,000 base salary, depending on experience
Discretionary year-end bonus
Health insurance
10 days PTO
