LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Human Resources Manager in Belleville, IL. This role is responsible for overseeing all core HR functions, including payroll administration, employee benefits, compliance, and employee relations. This role partners closely with leadership to support a positive workplace culture, ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing, and negotiate competitive benefits programs that support employee retention and engagement.

Type: Direct Hire/Permanent

Location: Belleville, IL

Compensation will vary upon experience:

  • Entry: $70,000 - $80,000

  • Mid: $90,000 -$100,000

Benefits: Health/Dental/Vision/401(k)/PTO/Holidays etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day HR operations including payroll, benefits, and employee relations

  • Manage and ensure accurate, timely payroll processing in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

  • Lead benefit plan administration including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and leave policies

  • Negotiate with insurance carriers, brokers, and benefit vendors to secure competitive coverage and cost-effective plans

  • Manage annual benefits renewals, plan design changes, and employee open enrollment

  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, wage and hour regulations, and company policies

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on HR strategy, compensation, and workforce planning

  • Handle employee relations matters including performance management, coaching, and issue resolution

  • Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook documentation

  • Partner with finance and leadership on payroll budgeting, benefits costing, and headcount planning

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is helpful, but not required

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including payroll and benefits management

  • Hands-on experience negotiating employee health insurance and benefits programs

  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems, compensation structures, and HRIS platforms

  • Solid understanding of employment laws and HR compliance requirements

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills

  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) is helpful, but not required

  • Experience partnering closely with executive leadership

Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year
