Overview

Are you an experienced HR professional looking to make an impact in the government contracting industry? We're seeking a Human Resources Manager to join our team in Chantilly, VA and help drive strategic HR initiatives while supporting a dynamic and growing workforce.

Responsibilities

What You'll Get To Do:

  • Plans, organizes, and controls day-to-day activities of the department.  Participates in developing department goals and objectives, recognizing opportunities for efficiency and workload balancing.   
  • Develop and implement departmental objectives, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, standardize processes, and optimize workload distribution.
  • Oversee and lead benefits administration, annual open enrollment, and complex claims resolution. 
  • Lead and develop a high-performing HR team through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Lead random drug screen requirements for contracts.  
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executives, directors, and managers by providing strategic guidance on Human Resources policies, employment practices, employment laws, regulatory requirements, and organizational initiatives to support sound business decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with the Service Contract Act (SCA) and other applicable federal, state, local, and contractual employment requirements by administering compliant HR policies, labor classifications, wage determinations, reporting, and audit-ready documentation.
  • Provide guidance, interpretation, and application of HR policies and procedures to support consistent and compliant resolution of employee relations matters.
  • Oversee new employee onboarding, orientation, workforce transitions, and contract start-up activities to ensure successful employee integration and operational readiness.
  • Analyze workforce and HR metrics to identify trends, support strategic decision-making, and drive improvements in employee engagement, retention, compliance, and contract performance. 
  • Ensure the proper handling of sensitive and confidential information, including adherence to security protocols in environments involving classified, controlled, or proprietary information. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; HR certification preferred.  
  • Seven (7) years of progressive experience in Human Resources. 
  • Five (5) years of experience in federal government contracting with operations in multiple states preferred.  
  • Three (3) years of management experience leading an HR team.  
  • Successfully pass background check and drug screening.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of federal government contracting business practices, including workforce requirements, contract compliance obligations, and operational processes.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources principles, practices, and strategies, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, workforce planning, and HR information systems.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including EEO, affirmative action, reasonable accommodation requirements, and other applicable employment compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of government contracting workforce requirements, including Service Contract Act (SCA) compliance, wage determinations, and union workforce considerations.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles related to strategic planning, resource allocation, organizational development, leadership, and workforce optimization.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop HR professionals while effectively managing priorities and departmental objectives.
  • Ability to interpret and apply HR policies, procedures, and employment regulations to support consistent and compliant business decisions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with employees, managers, executives, customers, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive employee, business, and contract-related information.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and HR-related systems and databases.

USD $120,000.00/Yr. Up to USD $145,000.00/Yr.
