A well-established Dallas law firm is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join its team. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing day-to-day HR operations, supervising HR and administrative staff, and partnering closely with attorneys, managers, and firm leadership.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of HR management experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment, and a strong background in employee relations, recruiting, performance management, and HR operations.
Responsibilities- Supervise and provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to HR and administrative support teams
- Oversee full-cycle recruitment for legal staff positions, including sourcing, interviewing, candidate selection, and offer negotiations
- Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop effective recruiting strategies
- Manage new-hire onboarding, including orientation, policy training, and integration into the firm
- Partner with the Director of Human Resources on employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent application of firm policies
- Serve as a trusted HR resource to attorneys, managers, and staff
- Manage and continuously improve the annual performance review process for attorneys and staff
- Lead employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives
- Coordinate firm events and manage associated budgets
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, procedures, and the overall employee experience
- Develop and maintain HR policies and departmental procedures
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Collaborate with other departments on firm-wide initiatives and special projects
- Assist with diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
- Perform additional HR management responsibilities as needed
Qualifications- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required
- 3+ years of HR Manager experience
- Previous law firm or professional services experience strongly preferred
- Experience supervising and developing employees
- Strong background in employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, and performance management
- Solid knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and regulatory compliance
- Experience working with HRIS platforms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong judgment and ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment
