Job Description Job Title: Human Resources Manager Reports To: VP of Finance FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Summary: The Human Resources (HR) Manager is responsible for overseeing day to day HR operations, supporting employees, remaining current in human resources industry trends and ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws. The HR Manager will partner with leadership to support workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits administration, and HR policy implementation. The HR Manager will support entities under Holdings CT LLC, including but not limited to Contractor Transport LLC, CT Industrial Services LLC and CTIS Staffing LLC.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Administer and maintain HR policies, procedures, job descriptions and employee handbook; coordinate updates as laws or company practices change in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
2. Onboard new employees ensuring compliance. Participate in new hire orientation. Coordinate background screenings and other pre-employment screenings. Maintains and updates personnel, medical, MVR, and DOT, if applicable, files for each employee in an organized, confidential manner, and inputs appropriate information into computer to maintain employee database.
3. Partner with management regarding employee performance evaluation, recognition procedures, disciplinary action, policy and process improvement. Liaison with managers in all measures of formal disciplinary actions. Support investigations of complaints related to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other alleged misconduct, in coordination with legal counsel.
4. Prepare employee separation/unemployment notices and conducts exit interviews; Compiles data and monitors turnover rates and trends.
5. Collaborate with and coach senior leadership to manage the on-going performance of policies and procedures for recruitment, retention, and training. Develop and maintain HR metrics and reports.
6. Oversee company training and workforce development through training programs with outside vendors and internal resources.
7. Ensure all appropriate notices and policies are communicated to the employees.
8. Administer compensation and employee benefits including base pay structures, incentive plans, health and welfare benefits, retirement plans and other company sponsored programs. Participate in annual open enrollment process to develop plan designs, complete appropriate paperwork, process updates and coordinate open enrollment sessions to effectively communicate timing, options and changes.
9. Respond to employee questions promptly regarding company or statutory benefits and workplace concerns.
10. Handle leave administration process by filing routine forms, assisting employees with medical claim forms and other related duties. Coordinate return to work processes and accommodation discussions.
11. Remains familiar with federal, state and local statutes involving employee selection and employee relations.
12. Oversee payroll function and serve as back up for weekly payroll processing.
13. Consult with managers and supervisors in the interpretation and application of policies.
14. Inform management of any significant changes in manpower levels, potential legal problems, pending terminations, pending retirements and other related situations.
15. Maintain a program for sound employee relations in accordance with established company policies.
16. Provide additional guidance and direction to department supervisors and administrative support professionals in the daily management of the office.
17. Support internal audits of HR, payroll, and benefits processes to reduce compliance risks.
18. Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
19. Travel required to all offices from time to time to ensure employees and management develop a psychologically safe relationship with the Human Resources function, enable you to influence and reinforce our culture and so you can develop and support the organizational goals of the company and development and retention of our team.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in Human Resources.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate and present effectively with senior management, company departments, project teams, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and carriers
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Exceptional organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, and set and adhere to deadlines
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suites
• Self-start, strong work ethic, and a team player
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
