Flamingo Estate is seeking a bilingual HR Manager to serve as the operational backbone of our people function as we continue to grow. In this hands-on role, you will oversee the day-to-day administration of HR operations, including payroll, benefits, compliance, employee records, and people processes, while providing thoughtful support to leadership on workforce planning and organizational needs. About the Position:

Flamingo Estate is seeking an experienced, bilingual HR Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our growing people function. This hands-on role is responsible for payroll, benefits administration, HR compliance, employee relations, contractor management, and HR reporting, while helping build and refine the systems, policies, and processes that support a thriving workplace.

The ideal candidate has experience in small to mid-sized, high-growth organizations, strong knowledge of California employment laws, and the ability to work independently while fostering a people-first culture. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys creating structure, improving processes, and partnering with leadership to support employee engagement and organizational growth.

Day to Day:

  • Manage payroll, benefits administration, and HR reporting for employees and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with California employment laws and maintain accurate HR records and documentation.
  • Lead onboarding and offboarding processes for employees and contractors.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for HR systems, vendors, and external partners.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates.
  • Partner with leadership to ensure fair, consistent people practices and support organizational growth.
  • Support employee relations matters, including performance management, investigations, issue resolution, and sensitive employee concerns.
  • Coordinate workforce planning, compensation reviews, role leveling, and internal promotions.
  • Facilitate training, compliance programs, and HR education initiatives.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and values-driven workplace culture.


Requirements

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • 5+ years of HR experience, ideally within small to mid-sized companies (40–100 employees).
  • Strong working knowledge of California labor laws and HR compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing payroll, benefits, 401(k), and contractor vs. Employee classification.
  • Hands-on experience building or refining HR policies, procedures, and infrastructure.
