Reports to: Chief Operating Office/Director of Human Resources Department: Human Resources

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for managing and administering several key functions of the Human Resources Department including staffing, diversity initiatives, employee relations, performance management, training, personnel systems and processes in order to ensure that company mission and vision is met. Assists the Director in making sound recommendations and planning of the HR programs, systems and functions that help achieve the Club's objectives and initiatives. Involved in various planning, designing and implementing of various employee programs and efforts. Supervises the seasonal HR coordinator and any temporary staff. Acts as Director in their absence.

Duties:

• Directs and manages the recruitment and selection process for all Club positions. Manages the posting of all positions, conducts interviews, and refers to hiring department. Ensures that internal processes are followed in selecting the best talent for the Club. • Supervises the seasonal/temporary Human Resources Coordinator; provides guidance and technical expertise on personnel processes. • Develops staffing strategies including internship programs, employee referral program, minority recruitment efforts, job fairs, etc. • Ensures hiring process for a variety of levels from hourly to management level placements. Enhances staffing systems, tracks • Directs classification plans and programs, coordinates preparation of position descriptions, and oversees job evaluations. Maintains the master position description file. • Interprets policies & procedures and provides advice to managers and supervisors regarding personnel practices, policy, and employment laws; administers unemployment insurance processes and recommends policy changes to the Director of Human Resources. • Maintains and develops a system for tracking 90-day evaluations for all non-exempt personnel. • Develops and implements training program for new hires including orientation and annual service standards training. Assists the Director in designing a quality assurance program. • Builds positive relationships and interacts with all levels of staffing to promote a positive work environment. Assists the Director in planning and implementing employee relations programs and activities. • Communicates to the Director on employee issues and matters to take proactive measures. • Ensures compliance with all state and federal discrimination and employment regulations. • Attends staff meetings, seminars and human resources related sessions or workshops in order to keep abreast of current Club trends and HR issues.

WORKERS COMPENSATION

Acts as the liaison between the employee and adjuster; Implement and administer a Return to Work/Light Duty Transition program for injured employees; Provide recommendations to HR Director on issues regarding employee safety, and trends analysis; Maintains an internal workers' compensation system; Coordinate and create OSHA logs and ensure compliance in record keeping and filing deadline dates; Maintains and updates records and file for Workers' Comp and Jones Act injuries; Provides status report to HR Director on employees on workers comp; Assures compliance between FMLA, ADA and WC.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Possession of a Bachelors Degree, preferably in Human Resources Management, Hospitality or related field, possession of a Masters Degree preferred and three to five years of experience at a management or senior administrative level with emphasis in Club/Hospitality background.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints, counseling managers and employees on the interpretation of policies, procedures and union agreements. • Knowledge of the principles and practices human resources management and supervision. • Ability to prepare written reports and correspondences, and presentations to senior leadership as required. • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally. • Extensive knowledge of applicable state and federal employment and labor laws and governmental compliance requirements, knowledge of immigration laws and processes a plus. • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. • Extensive knowledge of information technology, including hardware and software applications, used in the HRIS function. • Proven leadership. • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job function.

Work is performed in an office mostly sedentary.

Work is performed is sedentary with usually some walking, bending, lifting and. Some occasional lifting of maximum 15 lbs - 20 lbs
