Description
Fresh Express is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead and manage HR operations at our Streamwood, IL manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for driving strategies that align with operational goals, maintaining legal compliance, enhancing employee engagement, and supporting a safe, high-performance food culture. The HR Manager will work closely with leadership to ensure HR initiatives support business operations, workforce stability and good manufacturing practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
Partner with leadership to drive HR strategies and support organizational objectives.
Develop and implement onboarding programs to enhance the employee experience and retention.
Oversee recruitment ensuring alignment with union provisions where applicable.
Lead employee engagement initiatives and support a high-trust, team-oriented work environment.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC.
Interpret and administer the CBA fairly and consistently; resolve grievance and dispute resolutions in collaboration with union representatives.
Support training and development programs to improve individual team performance.
Collaborate with safety, quality, and operation teams to ensure adherence food safety and workplace safety standards.
Conduct internal audits and support external inspections, including those relevant to union compliance.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration or related field preferred
3-5 years of HR managerial experience, with at least 2 years in a unionized environment.
Strong knowledge of collective bargaining, grievance procedures and employment laws
Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office
Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills
Team player attitude with a clear understanding of excellence in customer service
Bi-lingual (Spanish & English)
