Human Resources Specialist

Description: South Windsor Public Schools is seeking a Human Resources Specialist for the Human Resources Department. We are seeking an individual with the skills necessary to maintain a professional atmosphere in an office that is in constant contact with members of both the school community and the community at large. The successful applicant must have positive interpersonal skills, ability to handle confidential information, well-developed organizational skills, capability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. This position is classified as a twelve (12) month work year with a seven and one-half (7.5) hour work day plus a one-half hour (30 minute) unpaid lunch.

Qualification and responsibilities for the Human Resources Specialist include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage Frontline Education System for daily absences, as well as coordinating the daily cycle of deploying substitute teachers. Create employment postings and review district applications for all created job openings.
  • Experience with MUNIS to assist with processing a variety of employment related paperwork, including new hire documentation, employee status change, database updates, accruals, and other confidential employee data.
  • Support with onboarding responsibilities including working with the IDEAMIA Identity & Security System.
  • Manage security and functionality of district's badge security systems
  • Working knowledge of Google and Microsoft office including Word and Excel
  • Provide excellent customer service and act as a point of contact for employees who have routine questions regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Ability to develop effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven experience working with confidential information while maintaining the highest degree of professionalism and discretion.
  • Previous experience in Human Resources is desired

Salary: Entry rate for the 2025-2026 school year is $29.28 per hour with incremental increases. 2026-2027 rates to be determined pending contract approval. Benefits are offered.
