The Position
The City of Encinitas is seeking a detail-oriented and customer focused Human Resources Program Assistant (Contract/Part-time) to provide administrative and technical support in a variety of Human Resource functions, including employee records, recruitment, onboarding and customer service. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, maintains confidentiality and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. Examples of Important & Essential Duties (included but not limited to)
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of: applicable principles and practices in assigned program area; applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations; data collection methods; modern office practices and equipment; English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation; records maintenance principles; customer service principles.
The ideal candidate will have skills in: providing customer service; using a computer and related software applications; handling multiple tasks simultaneously; maintaining files, records, databases, and other related systems; collecting data; preparing reports; preparing business correspondence; using modern office equipment; communicating laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures; communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma, or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.), plus word processing and keyboarding skills or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
