Job Summary:

The Human Resources Representative is responsible for supporting a broad range of human resources functions, including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, performance management, policy administration, compliance, and training and development. This position serves as a trusted resource for employees and management by providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.

The HR Generalist will coordinate and facilitate employee training programs, support leadership development initiatives, and assist with organizational development efforts to promote employee engagement and continuous learning. This role also participates in HR projects, maintains accurate employee records, and contributes to creating a positive and productive workplace culture.

We offer state-of-the-art technology with special services ranging from primary eye care to world-class laser surgery. Our physicians were the first to offer LASIK laser vision correction in East Texas and have performed tens of thousands of procedures since its inception. Heaton Eye offers a wide range of premium lenses including Symfony Extended Depth of Focus lenses, PanOptix® lenses, and Vivity® lenses to offer freedom from glasses and contacts after cataract surgery. Our surgeons were the first in East Texas to offer the RxSight Light Adjustable Lens, the only lens implant that allows patients to preview and adjust their vision after cataract surgery. Experience:

2-5 years of Human Resources Experience

Education:

Bachelor's degree in HR or Business Administration is a required.  

Certifications/Licensures:  Preferred PHR and/or SHRM-CP; must obtain PHR and/or SHRM-CP

Job Duties:

  • Administer and support all phases of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, orientation, employee relations, performance management, and offboarding.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation to ensure employees receive a positive introduction to the organization and understand company policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Coordinate and facilitate employee training programs, including new employee orientation, compliance training, leadership development, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain training records, monitor required certifications, and ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements.
  • Identify organizational training needs and assist in developing learning programs that enhance employee knowledge, skills, and performance.
  • Support employee engagement programs by assisting with recognition initiatives, wellness activities, employee events, and organizational communications.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities, including posting job openings, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks, and preparing employment offers.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel records, HRIS data, and employment documentation.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, leave administration, and responding to employee inquiries.
  • Assist management with employee relations issues by providing coaching, guidance, conflict resolution, and recommendations consistent with organizational policies and applicable employment laws.
  • Serve as a resource to employees and supervisors by providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, benefits, and employment-related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee and organizational information.


Qualifications:

  • Proficient in computer software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS Systems
  • Knowledge of HR law
  • Training experience is preferred
