Human Resources Specialist Position Purpose: The Human Resources Specialist provides operational and administrative support for the Human Resources (HR) Department. This position assists with recruiting, onboarding, benefits & leave administration support, employee records management, employee engagement and general HR operations. The Human Resources Specialist serves as a primary point of contact for routine employee inquiries while ensuring accurate and timely administration of HR processes. Qualities of the successful candidate include: - Associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
- 1-3 years administrative, customer service, or Human Resources experience required
- Ability to research and understand local, state, and federal regulations
- Awareness of OSHA regulations and compliance
- Strong customer service orientation
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy is essential
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle and maintain confidential information appropriately
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR systems
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel to other locations, as needed
- This person must represent and promote a positive and trustworthy image of the Bank throughout the community through involvement and/or participation in community, civic, and charitable organizations, and agencies
Responsibilities of this position include (but not limited to): - Assist hiring managers in all recruiting aspects, including job posting, maintaining the applicant tracking records, initiating offer letters and background screenings
- Assist with candidate communication throughout the hiring process
- Initiate exit documents and conduct exit interviews
- Prepare and coordinate material and schedules for new hire onboarding and orientation
- Maintain employee files and employment records with integrity
- Process employee status changes and other HR documentations
- Assist with employment verification requests
- Administer employee leave management claims for FMLA, AML, STD, and LTD
- Assist with the preparation and administration of the benefits platform, including new hire enrollment, life events, annual open enrollment, and troubleshooting issues
- Ensure the organization’s compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Manage Federal and State required regulatory postings and audits
- Manage all aspects of Worker’s Compensation including the claims process and compliance with notifications and postings
- Coordinate employee wellness initiatives
- Respond to employee inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Assist with various HR audits, recordkeeping and reporting
- Manage updates and annual reviews of the Employee Handbook
