Job Title: Human Resources Specialist

Department: Human Resources

Position Summary

Jupiter Aluminum is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Human Resources Specialist to support our Fairland, Indiana, operations. This role is a key member of the HR team and is responsible for delivering support in the areas of employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, payroll coordination, compliance, and employee engagement. The Human Resources Specialist offers the opportunity to make a direct impact in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & HR Support
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, payroll, attendance, and workplace concerns.
  • Assist managers and supervisors with employee relations matters, coaching, documentation, and policy interpretation.
  • Promote a positive employee experience and strong workplace culture.
Recruitment & Onboarding
  • Coordinate full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried positions, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and offer processes.
  • Manage onboarding and orientation for new hires to ensure a successful start.
  • Maintain recruiting metrics and support workforce staffing initiatives.
Benefits & Payroll Administration
  • Assist employees with benefit enrollment, changes, and general benefit questions.
  • Support payroll processing by reviewing timekeeping records, attendance data, and employee changes for accuracy.
Compliance & HR Administration
  • Maintain accurate employee files, HRIS records, and required employment documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Assist with audits, reporting, EEO data, training records, and other compliance-related activities.
Training & Employee Engagement
  • Coordinate training programs and employee development initiatives.
  • Assist with employee recognition programs, events, and engagement activities.
  • Support continuous improvement of HR processes and procedures.
Working Conditions
  • Primarily based in an office setting with frequent presence on the manufacturing floor.
  • Regular interaction with employees, supervisors, and leadership in a fast-paced industrial environment.
  • Exposure to production areas including noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures; appropriate PPE may be required on the plant floor.
  • Occasional flexibility may be needed to support off-shift hiring, employee meetings, or business related travel.
Qualifications: Education / Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2+ years of Human Resources experience, preferably in manufacturing or multi-shift operations.
  • Experience in recruiting, employee relations, benefits, payroll support, and HR administration.
  • Experience with HRIS, ADP Workforce Now, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or other HR certification preferred.
