Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for providing day-to-day operational support for and coordinating the activities of a high-volume HR Employee Center (HREC) while performing advanced employee lifecycle transaction processing in ServiceNow HRSD, SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC), and SAP. This role combines hands-on production responsibilities with operational support by assigning and balancing HR case workload within ServiceNow, monitoring ServiceNow queues, conducting audits, ensuring SLA, policy, and regulatory compliance, and resolving complex employee lifecycle transactions. Serving as the primary operational support and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned functional areas, the HR Specialist IV provides coaching, mentoring, knowledge transfer, advanced troubleshooting, and policy interpretation for Tier 1 HREC Specialists while partnering with HRBPs, Centers of Excellence, Payroll, Benefits, HRIS, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders to support accurate, timely, compliant, and customer-focused HR service delivery and continuous improvement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

High-Volume HR Transaction Processing:

  • Process and review high-volume, complex employee lifecycle transactions including hires, rehires, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, organizational changes, and terminations.
  • Manage a high volume of ServiceNow HR cases while meeting productivity, quality, and SLA targets.
  • Perform pre-entry and post-entry validation of employee master data, organizational assignments, effective dates, approvals, and downstream system updates.
  • Reconcile data across ServiceNow, SuccessFactors EC, SAP, and related systems to ensure data integrity.
  • Maintain complete, audit-ready documentation supporting all employee data changes.

Lead Functional Responsibilities:

  • Assign and balance HR case workload, monitor ServiceNow queues, prioritize urgent requests, and ensure equitable work distribution.
  • Monitor case aging, backlog trends, SLA performance, assignment accuracy, and fulfillment adherence.
  • Conduct quality and Four-Eyes audits to validate transaction accuracy, completeness, compliance, and procedural adherence.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex cases, employee concerns, stakeholder issues, and operational challenges.
  • Process and review high-complexity employee lifecycle transactions requiring advanced expertise and judgment.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for policies, procedures, systems, and operational processes within assigned functional areas.
  • Provide mentoring, knowledge transfer, skills development, and operational coaching to Tier 1 HREC Specialists.
  • Partner with HRBPs, COEs, Payroll, Benefits, HRIS, Talent Acquisition, managers, and business leaders to resolve issues and support business needs.
  • Support compliance reviews, audits, corrective actions, control validation, and documentation requirements.
  • Monitor operational metrics, identify trends, communicate risks, and provide recommendations for improving service delivery.
  • Recommend, draft, and coordinate updates to work instructions, FAQs, job aids, and knowledge articles to improve standardization, compliance, and operational consistency.
  • Identify process improvements, participate in FUT/UAT testing, recommend workflow enhancements, and support operational initiatives.
  • Provide specialized functional support, policy interpretation, advanced troubleshooting, and escalation assistance for sensitive or complex issues.
  • Lead Tier 1 HREC Specialists through mentoring, HR case workload balancing, escalation management, quality oversight, and direct case resolution when appropriate.

  • Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a certificate in human resources and six or more years of progressive experience in human resources administration or a related field.
  • Must be customer focused and have a comprehensive understanding of human resource policies, procedures and relevant regulations.
