Human Resources Specialist

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and discreet HR professional to provide essential administrative and operational support to IU Health's HR leadership team. From managing calendars and building agendas for leadership meetings to conducting compliance reviews and supporting transactional HR work in Oracle, this role is ideal for someone who takes initiative, brings strong organizational instincts, and thrives in a fast-paced, confidential environment.

Key Relationships

Reports to: Director - Human Resources

Direct reports: None

Shift: Full time, Monday - Friday, hybrid

Location: Indianapolis, IN

The Scope:

This role provides administrative and operational HR support, including:

  • Providing calendar and administrative support to HR Directors
  • Attending leadership meetings, taking notes, tracking action items, and building agendas
  • Performing transactional Oracle work in support of HR operations
  • Reviewing compliance-related spreadsheets to identify non-compliance issues and helping the team take action
  • Managing reports, spreadsheets, and special projects involving complex, high-volume data
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality of employee data and sensitive HR matters
  • Delivering high-quality customer service and professional representation of the HR department

Candidate Qualifications

Candidates for this position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.

  • High School Diploma/GED required.

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent years of experience preferred.

  • One to three years of job related experience in a confidential environment preferred.

  • Previous Human Resource experience preferred.

  • Experience with matrix organization and complex work environment preferred.

  • Knowledge and understanding of regulations and laws (e.g. FLSA; COBRA; ADA; FMLA; etc.).

  • Basic proficiency in MS office required (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
