Position Summary:

The HR Supervisor serves as the primary leader within the Human Resources department, communicating policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations to HR staff and employees. This role provides guidance and support on a wide range of human resources matters while assisting the Director of Human Resources in ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The HR Supervisor helps drive HR strategies and initiatives that foster a high-performance culture focused on quality, productivity, accountability, goal achievement, and the recruitment, retention, and continuous development of a highly skilled workforce.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Promote and maintain a positive work environment that supports employee morale, engagement, and company culture.
  • Supervises, trains and supports HR team members
  • Partner with leadership to support organizational goals, workforce planning, and talent strategies.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, employee development, and retention initiatives.
  • Support managers with performance management processes, employee coaching, and performance reviews.
  • Manage employee relations matters including investigations, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as company policies and industry standards.
  • Oversee workplace safety initiatives including OSHA compliance, safety training, workers' compensation claims, and required reporting.
  • Maintain OSHA records, postings, and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities for organizational improvement and employee development.
  • Keep the Director of Human Resources informed of significant personnel matters and organizational concerns requiring escalation.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Computer literacy in word processing and spreadsheet programs.
  • Read, write and speak English fluently.
  • In depth knowledge of clerical and organizational techniques.
  • Work under time and budgetary pressures.
  • Work well in a team environment, demonstrate good communication skills, maintain a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive HR experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years of supervisory/lead experience
  • Knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, OSHA regulations, and workplace safety standards.
  • Strong communication, leadership, initiative, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems preferred.

Physical Demands Include:

  • Sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Use of hands and arms to operate office equipment.
  • Being able to see (20/25 vision with glasses, 20/25 without) and hear (with mechanical assistance if necessary) sufficient to understand and comprehend individual one-on-one conversations.

Work Environment:

This person will work in an office which is a temperature controlled environment with moderate noise. There will be outside time spent in the manufacturing environment. This setting involves manufacturing equipment with others working in close proximity.
