Position Summary:

The Human Services Program Director (HSPD) provides leadership, supervision, and oversight for the Seattle Indian Health Boards Human Services programs. The HSPD is responsible for direct supervision/professional development of the Human Services Program Admin, fostering collaboration between programs, maximizing the use of project funds, monitoring and evaluating program progress and outcomes. The HSPD reports directly to the Associate Behavioral Health Officer and will work closely with them to plan and execute program development strategies that align with SIHBs mission, vision, values, and indigenous informed systems of care.

The HSPD is focused on growth and expansion of Human Services and responsible for supporting the integration of Human Services into SIHBs model of care. This requires innovative thinking, strong communication, facilitation, and organization skills.

The HSPD has a core responsibility in SIHBs movement toward full integration

Duties:

Organizational Structure/Reporting Relationships:

This position reports directly to the Associate Behavioral Health Officer and is a member of the Human Services Team and will supervise Human Services Program Administrator.

Job Responsibilities:

Recruit, develop, and retain program staff through active leadership and effective supervision. Provide leadership to ensure collaboration among Human Services programs, i.e., homelessness investment, gender-based, domestic violence and sexual assault services and other divisional programs, i.e., elders, Traditional Indian Medicine. Support divisional leadership in implementing the vision and goals for Human Services and solidifying their alignment with SIHBs Mission, Vision, Values, and indigenous knowledge systems of care. Produce regular status and outcome reports that demonstrate continual improvement for Human Services programs, initiatives, and projects. Ensure appropriate and timely use of grant dollars for all Human Services programs. Responsible for grants/contract compliance for Human Services. Carry out program direction duties, i.e., assist grants and contracts department in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, reporting, program strategic planning, and resource development. Regularly monitor, document, and evaluate program elements to ensure performance standards/requirements are met. Maintain files and data-reporting systems to support related program analysis on regular, defined intervals. Qualifications:

Required Background Qualifications:

Able to work in an environment that consistently promotes and practices AI/AN Traditional Medicine. Valid Washington State drivers license.

Education:

Bachelors degree in Psychology, Organizational Leadership, Public Health, social or health sciences, or related field. Masters degree is preferred.

Experience:

4-6 years experience in developing and managing direct services programs.

Work Environment:

Office hours are 8-5, Monday through Friday with occasional extra hours for events or to meet deadlines. This position is not eligible for remote work.
