The Human Services Enforcement Assistant position in Division of Support Enforcement & Recovery (DSER) is a full-time Monday-Friday, 8-5.

Core Responsibilities:

The Human Services Enforcement Assistant provides administrative support in a Child Support Office. Duties can vary and include, but are not limited to:

• Provides customer service, answers phones, and assists with general questions pertaining to process or procedures.

• Performs quality control on cases to ensure all documents are completed accurately and in compliance with established procedures.

• Reviews cases for completion of documents and assigns cases to appropriate staff.

• Scans completed forms and cases into designated historical archive (i.e. Docuware).

• Meets with custodial parents to review and complete paperwork needed for child support proceedings.

• Gathers financial and personal information needed to determine the responsible parent's obligation, ability to pay, and schedule of payment.

• Investigates and tracks parental information using multiple avenues to gather information for liability calculations.

• Reviews and evaluates assigned caseload to identify problems and determine type of action required.

• Collects and prepares information to develop evidence to be presented in civil and criminal court proceedings.

• Oversee intergovernmental communication and process according to procedures to support out-of-state custodial or non-custodial parents pertaining to child support.

• Trains newly hired Human Enforcement Agents or Human Enforcement Support Assistants on policy, procedure, and systems.

• Provides consultation for technology updates and advises on process updates to meet department needs as well as State and Federal requirements.

• Monitors established child support payments to identify changes in employment or lapses in payment.

• Investigates and gathers information on lapsed payments by reaching out to the non-custodial or custodial parent, sending letters of inquiry, verifying employment, and communicating with jails if the parent is in custody to identify reason for lapsed payment.

• Performs paternity DNA swabbing, maintains chain of evidence and paperwork to establish paternity of child.

• Maintains court calendars and coordinates the assignment of agents to open cases.

• Updates computation spreadsheets as needed and/or prepares the computation for new cases.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify for this position, you must have foundational education, training, and/or experience in office/administrative support work or another related area demonstrating competency in applying office support processes, procedures, and practices; gathering and organizing information; tracking and maintaining records; and explaining or assisting with administrative processes.
