Description of Work

The primary purpose of this position, located within Vocational Enterprises (VE), is to provide oversight of the programming that occurs within the work areas aligning with the Employment First Initiative. This position is responsible for: the Career Development Plan process and training identified staff on how to complete the plan; ensuring up-to-date work consents and work agreements for all individuals participating in the work programs at MDC; organization of job descriptions, work studies, schedules, activities, and attendance which will require coordination with Community Program Employment Supervisor and Community Employment Specialist within VE; referrals for new job placements in VE work areas; oversight of formal activities that track job participation; completion of evaluations based on individual's assessment data. The position will also be responsible for the revising and approving revisions of Murdoch Center Program Library (MCPL) teaching methods used across MDC and serve as the liaison to the community for the distribution of the MCPL.

Recruitment Range: $37,377.00 - $65,408.00

  • Experience working with individuals with I/DD in a vocational/work setting, including implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of vocational programming, including knowledge and understanding of the Employment First Initiative.
  • Experience using behavior management techniques, task analysis techniques, and teaching strategies for individuals with I/DD.
  • Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team comprised of various professionals and communicate effectively with all levels of staff, both orally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook for documentation, data management, and communication.
  • Knowledge of and experience utilizing Murdoch Center Program Library (MCPL) teaching methods with individuals with I/DD.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00a.m. - 5:00p.m.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in a human services or related field from an appropriately accredited institution, and one year of experience providing and/or developing person-centered care plans for individuals with intellectual disabilities/co-occurring disorders; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degrees in human services may be substituted to meet educational requirements if an applicant does not possess a Bachelor's degree in human services or related field.
