THE POSITION

The Human Services Program Representative 2 role with the Department of Human Services gives you the chance to guide important human services work. You will support programs that improve the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and their families every day. This position allows you to develop leadership skills while working with dedicated partners and providers. Join a team where your efforts help shape stronger, safer communities.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports developmental programs by guiding waiver capacity, supervising staff, and coordinating with partners. The role involves oversight, communication, and decision making to help ensure individuals receive appropriate services. As a Human Services Program Representative 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Waiver Management: Direct waiver capacity processes across assigned regions and ensure proper use of allocations
  • Staff Supervision: Guide professional staff and provide support for daily office operations
  • Data Analysis: Review fiscal and program metrics to support decisions regarding capacity and service needs
  • Emergency Oversight: Approve emergency waiver participation and coordinate changes needed to support individuals
  • Provider Coordination: Work with administrative entities and providers to manage vacancies and enrollment activities
  • Policy Participation: Contribute to interdepartmental workgroups and support development of policies and procedures

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week. You will be required to work in-office 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Philadelphia. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Human Services Program Representative 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of professional experience developing, implementing, or evaluating a human service program, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
