About Human Trafficking

About Human Trafficking Taskforce

Under limited supervision, performs as Human Trafficking Program Coordinator, developing and presenting on human trafficking related issues via sector specific trainings and prevention education for schools, colleges/universities, and other child and youth serving organizations. Collaborates with the Chairs of the State Task Force Subcommittees, regional task forces, and partner agencies at the state and national levels.

  • Assist in the identification and recruitment of subcommittee leadership and sector specific members. Provide technical support for the work of the group. Support the development and implementation of subcommittee goals. Assist the subcommittee with any matter that may hinder their collective success. Submit information regarding the subcommittee for the annual report.
  • Assist in the identification and recruitment of regional task force leadership. Support the efforts of the regional task force in building out subcommittees and setting goals for their community efforts. Assist in executing the goals as needed.
  • Lead assigned statewide initiatives. Execute initiatives in assigned strategic response area while coordinating the same in other areas of the state. Record information about the initiatives in relevant spreadsheets to ensure accurate information.
  • Identify community stakeholders in a variety of professional sectors within regional task force counties. Schedule regular meetings with new contacts to assess how they may become active in state and/or regional efforts. Establish and sustain working relationships. Attend events within the assigned strategic response area.
  • Respond promptly to requests for presentations and training. Adapt presentations specifically to the context and audience. Optimize the presentation or training opportunity through the provision of Task Force items. Provide awareness or training materials as appropriate. Recruit attendees to visit the website and sign up on the listserv.
  • Identify resources in counties within assigned strategic response area. List resources in a spreadsheet format. Share information with others in the office for use in supplemental certifications, strategic planning, request for funds, task force recruitment, and other projects.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A bachelors degree and relevant experience with a demonstrated interest in issues related to anti-human trafficking efforts.

Additional Requirements:

  • Position may require overnight travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Must be organized with a demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Comfortable with presenting to large groups.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in a presentation-format and exercise sound judgement and discretion.
  • Able to collaborate with varied stakeholders.
  • Must be familiar with MS-Office, presentation products, and Adobe Illustrator.
