Hume Lake - Facilities Generalist - Facilities - Full-time

Vision for the Role: The Facilities Generalist plays a vital role in creating a distraction-free environment for guests by ensuring that Hume Lake facilities are operating safely and functionally. This individual performs work related to electrical installation repair, improvements, relocation, and troubleshooting in new and remodel construction. The technician will also diagnose and repair residential and commercial appliances.

The Role:

• Assist in general maintenance and repairs of camp facilities, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting. 
• Perform routine inspections to ensure safety and functionality of camp buildings and grounds. 
• Support seasonal preparation of camp facilities (e.g., winterization, summer readiness). 
• Maintain and repair camp equipment and tools as directed. 
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and facility-related concerns. 
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of work areas, storage spaces, and maintenance equipment. 
• Follow safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a secure environment for campers and staff. 
• Work collaboratively with other team members and departments to support camp operations. 
• Demonstrate a Christ-centered attitude and actively contribute to the spiritual environment of the camp.
• Ensure the Organization’s philosophy, mission and vision are pertinent and practiced

• Build healthy relationships with all people who work in and for Maintenance 
• Project a friendly attitude; to meet the needs of all maintenance customers.
• Perform other related duties and assignments as required. Hume maintains the right to reassign or change duties as needed.

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Evidenced commitment to Jesus Christ and a desire to share the Gospel with others.
• Minimum of 2 years of general maintenance or facilities experience, with exposure to multiple trades including electrical, plumbing, or carpentry.
• Ability to read and follow maintenance manuals, work orders, and basic technical documentation.
• Must be able to live in Hume Lake housing.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks and work outdoors or indoors as needed.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work under supervision.
• Must agree with and support Hume Christian Camps’ Statement of Faith.
• Must have a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a desire to share the Gospel through word and deed.

Physical Requirements: 

• The staff member must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions of the job.
• Live and work in extreme weather conditions, at high altitude, and in small living quarters.
