HVAC Controls Technician

Join a leading building technologies organization supporting commercial and public-sector facilities throughout South Florida. In this role, you will commission, troubleshoot, and optimize building automation and HVAC control systems that help improve energy efficiency, building performance, and occupant comfort. You'll work directly with customers across government facilities, public schools, healthcare campuses, and state/local municipal buildings, serving as a trusted technical resource and ensuring systems operate at peak performance.

Responsibilities

• Commission, troubleshoot, and service Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC control systems.
• Diagnose system issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
• Support warranty-related service calls and ensure timely issue resolution.
• Optimize building performance through system adjustments, programming, and operational improvements.
• Work closely with customers to understand facility needs and recommend efficiency enhancements.
• Provide technical support and guidance to field technicians and project teams.
• Document service activities, commissioning results, and system modifications.
• Utilize HVAC software tools, programming platforms, and diagnostic applications.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and site-specific safety requirements.
• Travel throughout South Florida to support customer sites as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics, Mechanical Systems, HVAC, Computer Technology, or a related field OR 2+ years of experience in HVAC controls, building automation, or related systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC controls, facility management systems, installation practices, and service methodologies.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical and controls-related building systems.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Basic leadership skills and experience supporting technicians in the field.
• Proficiency with PCs, software applications, and HVAC-related programming tools.

Compensation:

$28/hr to $31/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
