Facility Services - HVAC COORDINATOR

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have at least 10 years of experience in heating, air conditioning, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. 5 years experience with chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and associated equipment.

Must have 5 years experience in the operations of chiller, boiler systems for heating and cooling.

Must have EPA Certification for the proper use of refrigerants, including recovery, recycling, and reclaim.

Has knowledge and ability to add gas to refrigeration units as needed.

Must have OEM chiller certification training.

Must have competent knowledge of the principles of refrigeration, electrical circuitry, and air movements common to heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems, practices, methods, materials, and tools used in the trade.

Must have knowledge of gas, red heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment, such as direct expansion units, to include air conditioning systems and heat pumps units.

Must be a high school graduate from a regionally accredited school or have a GED equivalent.

Must possess a valid drivers license.

Must be insurable as determined by an investigation into private and business driving records within any consecutive three-year time frame.

Must have a strong knowledge of computer operation and navigation. Knowledge of applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook.

Must have the ability to create schedules of work for PM and Mechanical technicians and meet deadlines based on these schedules. Be able to create, assign, and manage work orders. Maintain schedules of PM work.

Must maintain accurate records of time, labor, and materials via computer-based programs.

Must have knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work.

Must have skills in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of HVAC equipment, HVAC systems, and equipment.

Must have the ability to coordinate PM and Mechanical technicians on work order requests.

Must have skills in communication and interpersonal relations as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, users of technology, etc., or sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work directions.

Must have the ability to coordinate with PM technicians on PM service of HVAC equipment. Coordinate with Leads and Mechanical Technicians on Maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment.

Must have the ability to support PM technicians, Leads, and Mechanical Technicians.

Must have the ability to report potential problems, unusual events, or work irregularities to appropriate administrative or supervisory personnel.

Must adhere to school system rules, administrative procedures, local Board policies, and state, federal regulations.

Must perform after-hours work as requested or needed. This position may also be required to work after hours and weekends when necessary. Must be willing to perform other duties as assigned by the System Maintenance Director and/or the Executive Manager of Facilities.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents, including computer and software manuals, safety rules, attendance instructions, and school and district procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

EVALUATION

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on Evaluation of Classified Employees.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

12 months, 260 days - 8 hours per day. The daily work schedule will be determined by the CEM Manager or his/her designee. Work schedules are subject to change. At Will Employee subject to the Students First Act of 2011 and other applicable state and federal laws.

Duty Days: 260 Salary Range: From $78,910.00 to $98,910.00 (See current Salary Schedule on Human Resources Webpage)
