Johnson Controls Inc. is seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanic to supply maintenance and repair services for our emerging North American HVAC portfolio. The role encompasses light and heavy commercial equipment, including turbine and chiller repair, ammonia system servicing, and turnkey system installation.Responsibilities Perform commercial HVACR maintenance, repair, and replacement on heating and cooling systems.Diagnose and repair centrifugal turbines, steam turbines, screw chillers, ammonia systems, and other commercial equipment.Partner with Journeymen to service high‑complexity components and provide advice on commissioning and aftermarket service.Deliver high‑quality customer service, including troubleshooting, recommending solutions, generating quotes, and identifying upsell opportunities.Maintain accurate service records, safety documentation, and compliance with EPA refrigerant and hydrocarbon training requirements.Travel 50‑75% of the time as part of the Travel Team.Qualifications Member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry (UAW‑PPI).Minimum 8 years of commercial or industrial HVAC and petrochemical (or Data Center) experience, including rooftop units, pumps, fans, boilers, chillers, compressors, and steam/turbine systems.Proficiency in repair of centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers, ammonia/hydrocarbon system components, and complete HVAC system installations.Ability to perform mechanical shaft alignment and vibration analysis for drivelines.Valid driver's license and EPA refrigerant or local licensing, as applicable.Strong written and verbal communication skills and customer‑focused problem solving.Pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiency.Benefits & Compensation $41 per hour, set by the collective bargaining agreement.Bargaining unit position; benefits through local labor union.Access to training programs, factory certification, incentive plans, and career development opportunities.Company vehicle, tools, and uniforms supplied.Recognition, monetary rewards, and advancement through the Service Technical Academy.Equal Employment Opportunity Johnson Controls International plc. is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer.
