HVAC Design Engineer

We are on the hunt for a talented professional to craft innovative solutions for heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) requirements in diverse building projects, including both commercial and residential structures.

Your role will involve executing detailed load analyses, establishing ventilation necessities, and crafting comprehensive system arrangements. You will be pivotal in drafting construction documentation, projecting costs, and harmonizing design efforts with a broad spectrum of project partners such as architects, contractors, and engineers. The ideal applicant will possess a robust background, ideally two to four years, in designing HVAC solutions and demonstrate strong command over Revit and AutoCAD.

**Primary Duties**

- Innovatively devise HVAC setups and control systems tailored to specific project needs.
- Execute in-depth heating and cooling demand analyses to ascertain ideal system capacities.
- Compute ventilation and airflow metrics compliant with regulatory standards.
- Choose and calibrate HVAC devices like air handlers, roof units, and chillers.
- Layout ductwork, piping, and ventilation channels.
- Produce and refine detailed plans and schematics using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Evaluate and integrate architectural schematics and blueprints with HVAC plans.
- Liaise with diverse project teams to ensure cohesive design execution.
- Formulate detailed specs for equipment and materials, alongside accurate budget assessments.
- Vet equipment submissions to meet design criteria.
- Troubleshoot design discrepancies with cost-effective solutions.
- Offer technical advisory throughout the construction phase.
- Attend vital meetings, design walkthroughs, and field evaluations.
- Ensure designs adhere to codes and standards.
- Keep precise records and ensure project execution remains timely and within financial constraints.

**Essential Qualifications**

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 2-4 years in HVAC system design.
- Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD deployment.
- Expertise in creating HVAC layout schematics and construction documentation.
- Competent in interpreting detailed engineering and construction data.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and collaboration skills.

**Desirable Skills**

- Insight into commercial and multifamily property HVAC design.
- Acquaintance with ASHRAE standards.
- Hands-on with load-calculation tools.
- Engineer-in-Training or progressing toward licensure is advantageous.
