HVAC/Energy Management Systems Technician II
The Department of Administrations (Admin) Division of Facilities Management and Property Services is seeking an HVAC/Energy Management Systems Technician I to join the team. Facilities Management (FM) maintains and operates approximately 53 buildings which include the State House, Capitol Complex Office Buildings, the Governor's Mansion and other buildings in the Columbia area. In this role you will provides higher-skilled building HVAC maintenance and repair services in order to efficiently and effectively repair and maintain FM owned and contracted buildings. You will provide strong leadership skills to include oversight to HVAC projects.
Responsibilities of the HVAC/Energy Management Systems Technician II:
Plan for, implement and complete, individually or as a part of a team, assigned maintenance, repair and renovation of HVAC tasks professionally, efficiently, effectively and safely in order to minimize unexpected and premature equipment failures in accordance with established policies, procedures and good work practices, and to ensure FM owned and contracted buildings are in safe working order and compliant with codes and regulations.
Utilizers skills and knowledge with refrigeration, heat transfer, operation of compressors, air handlers, heat pump service, pneumatic systems, energy systems controls, threading and pipe fitting, mechanical cooling and boiler/chiller knowledge and electrical and plumbing skills, especially as they relate to the repairs and maintenance of HVAC equipment.
Strong leadership skills and ability to oversee HVAC projects. Assist with maintenance, repair and renovation tasks of other various trades, individually or as a part of a team, in order to complete assigned tasks in a professional, effective, efficient and safe manner in accordance with established policies, procedures and good work practices. Work will be completed without elevating to the supervisor except when necessary.
Learns and effectively utilizes the SCEIS plant maintenance phone app as provided by DOA to effectively and accurately to precisely log time, locations, materials, and resolution details for corrective and preventative maintenance work orders and a detailed description of the work completed including the resolution of the task to ensure that accurate records are maintained on how time and materials are utilized.

Performs other duties as assigned to include disaster assistance in order to ensure the success of facilities management, offers guidance promotes teamwork and cooperation and works to resolve challenges.
