The HVAC Helper assists HVAC Technicians and Installers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to build a long-term career in the HVAC industry through hands-on experience and training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist technicians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems and related equipment
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment from company vehicles
- Stock, organize, and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment
- Cut, drill, and prepare openings for installation work
- Carry and lift equipment and materials (up to 100 lbs.) as needed
- Maintain clean and safe work areas, including job sites, vehicles, and warehouses
- Follow all company policies, safety guidelines, and supervisor instructions
- Support field crews by retrieving tools, parts, and materials during installations and service calls
- Perform basic measurements, plumbing, and assembly tasks under supervision
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
Required Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screening
- Clean background check
- Willingness to attend training seminars and classes to improve skills and knowledge
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Willingness to invest in personal hand tools used for HVAC service work
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including:
- Continuous walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching
- Working in attics, crawl spaces, and outdoors in various weather conditions
- Lifting up to 100 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of HVAC systems and tools
- Familiarity with basic plumbing and electrical concepts
- Previous construction or mechanical experience
