Are you a rockstar HVAC Installer or Team Lead who takes ownership and direction, cares about quality, communicates well, and naturally steps up to lead others?

Listen, we know a lot of HVAC install departments struggle with the same things: inconsistent installs, poor handoffs, material issues, communication gaps, rework, and crews constantly having to figure things out in the field that should have already been handled upstream.

That’s not what Sandbox+ is trying to build.

We’re looking for an HVAC Install Manager to help lead the next phase of Sandbox+’s HVAC operation. This is a field leadership role responsible for bringing structure, consistency, accountability, and quality to residential HVAC installations while helping tighten the connection between Preconstruction planning and field execution.

This is not just a “run the crew” position. Although you do need to do that well.

We’re looking for someone who can take ownership of install execution from handoff through completion, identify problems before they hit the field, coordinate crews and materials well, reinforce quality standards, mentor technicians, and help create installs that are done right the first time.

And honestly, this role is a major opportunity for the right person.

Sandbox+ is growing quickly, and HVAC is becoming an increasingly important part of the company alongside solar, batteries, and integrated home energy solutions. We’re still building and improving this operation, which means the right person will have real influence on how installs, crews, standards, and workflows develop moving forward.

The people who tend to do well here care about doing quality work, solving problems, communicating well, protecting the customer experience, and helping build systems that make the field run smoother instead of more chaotic.

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Lead HVAC install execution with consistency, accountability, and strong field leadership
  • Build strong alignment between the HVAC, Preconstruction, Procurement, and Construction division
  • Reinforce workmanship, quality, safety, and professionalism across install crews
  • Reduce rework, delays, material waste, and avoidable install issues
  • Mentor and develop install technicians while helping build stronger install standards
  • Protect customer experience and company reputation in the field on every project

We need this person to have:

  • 5+ years of residential HVAC installation experience
  • Strong understanding of heat pumps, furnaces, ducted and ductless systems, and refrigerant management
  • Experience leading crews and coordinating field operations
  • Understanding of commissioning readiness, rebate requirements, and install quality standards
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities

Bonus Points For Those Who:

  • Have experience helping scale HVAC install operations
  • Understand both field execution and operational coordination
  • Have experience improving commissioning readiness and reducing rework
  • Enjoy building teams, systems, and long-term operational stability

This might not be the right opportunity for those who:

  • Can’t communicate and work effectively with a wide range of people - from field crews and office staff to customers, vendors, and company leadership
  • Don’t enjoy leading and mentoring a team, or educating
  • Resist accountability, follow-through, or organization
  • Cut corners on workmanship, safety, cleanliness, or customer experience
  • Wait for other departments to solve problems instead of driving solutions forward
  • Create unnecessary friction, blame-shifting, or chaos between teams

This role is primarily field-based with office coordination responsibilities mixed in
Compensation range is $38-$44/hour depending on experience
As a condition of employment, candidates must successfully complete a background check
We expect to have this role open until June 30, but may extend it as needed
