Your mission
Lead people and process to deliver safe, high‑quality installations—on time, on budget, and with rave‑worthy customer outcomes.
How you’ll make it happen
- Turn customer issues into wins by resolving complaints and following through.
- Engineer efficient schedules and workforce plans to maximize utilization and margin.
- Own budgeting: create, track, and manage to targets.
- Keep jobs moving by ordering/staging materials and equipment and coordinating parts repairs quickly.
- Collaborate with marketing through departmental research and initiatives.
- Report results: build dashboards/reports and review performance with leadership.
- Safeguard accuracy of inventory, tool, and vehicle records; monitor operational metrics.
- Raise the craftsmanship bar—train crews on material use and quality standards.
- Ensure payroll accuracy for all technicians.
- Verify tools are available and well maintained for every assignment.
- Partner with dispatch to match technician strengths to job types.
- Assess training needs; deliver on‑the‑job instruction and ongoing support.
- Lead the Service team end‑to‑end: hiring, scheduling, setting priorities, staff meetings, counseling, performance evaluations, discipline, and daily direction.
- Other duties as assigned to support department goals.
What it takes
- 5+ years in HVAC service plus 2+ years of HVAC management experience.
- Technical fluency in gas piping, electrical, plumbing, and airflow.
- Confident leader with excellent communication, computer literacy, and math skills.
- Customer‑first mindset and pride in quality work.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive.
Physical capabilities
- Lift 50 lbs on a regular basis; up to 100 lbs on occasion.
- Navigate ladders, attics, crawlspaces, and tight areas; push, carry, pull; use hand tools; perform precise, detailed tasks.
- Work in indoor/outdoor environments, including hot/cold extremes and adverse weather.
- Stand, walk, sit; talk/hear in person and via phone; handle/feel controls; reach with hands/arms.
- Frequently stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
