Job Summary
The HVAC Installer Apprentice supports the installation team with residential and light commercial heating and cooling system installations while learning the HVAC trade through hands-on field experience. This role works closely with experienced installers and technicians to develop technical skills, maintain safety standards, and deliver a positive customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist HVAC Install Technicians with installation of heating and cooling systems
- Support removal and disposal of old HVAC equipment and materials
- Utilize hand and power tools to assist with installation of mechanical systems
- Help prepare job sites, organize materials, and maintain clean work areas
- Assist with troubleshooting and diagnosing basic HVAC system concerns under supervision
- Support quality checks to help ensure proper system operation and customer satisfaction
- Learn proper refrigerant handling and HVAC installation procedures
- Enter basic customer and job information into company systems as needed
- Work directly with homeowners, building owners, and team members in a professional manner
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain safe work practices at all times
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
- Perform additional duties as assigned by lead installers or management

- Quick learner with problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments and varying weather conditions
- HVAC schooling or trade program experience preferred but not required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, climb ladders, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces for extended periods
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in changing weather conditions
Work Environment
Field-based work environment including residential and commercial customer locations. Exposure to dust, weather conditions, construction environments, and mechanical equipment may occur. Personal protective equipment may be required.
Schedule
Typically Monday through Friday with varying start times based on job assignments. Overtime, weekends, and on-call work may occasionally be required.
