HVAC Lead Installer - Lamar Heat & Air

Location: Aledo, TX

Type: Full Time

Tired of “installer” meaning everything with no plan, no standards, and constant fire drills?

Want to lead installs the right way—with clean work, clear communication, and a team that has your back?

Do you take pride in a perfect start-up, tight ductwork, and leaving a home cleaner than you found it?

Ready to be the lead tech people trust when the job actually matters?

The Role (Your Day-to-Day)

As our HVAC Lead Installer at Lamar Heat & Air (Aledo, TX), you’re the person who sets the standard on every install. You’ll lead the job from arrival to final walk-through: prep the site, guide the crew, handle critical install decisions, communicate with the office/customer, and deliver a clean, code-compliant system that performs the way it should.

A great day looks like: truck loaded, plan clear, team aligned, install smooth, start-up dialed in, customer confident, paperwork done—and zero “we’ll come back later” mess.

You’ll fit here if you like ownership, standards, and being part of a company built on trust, accountability, and taking care of our community.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Lead residential HVAC changeouts/installs end-to-end (set/coil/condensing unit, transitions, drains, venting, line sets, electrical as applicable)
  • Run the job site: safety, layout, quality control, pacing, and coaching the installer/helper
  • Ensure installs meet manufacturer specs, local code, and best practices (airflow, charging, condensate, insulation, sealing)
  • Perform start-up/commissioning: evacuations, micron targets, refrigerant charge verification, thermostat setup, test/verify performance
  • Communicate clearly with dispatch/CSR and homeowners (scope, expectations, timeline, any surprises—no hiding problems)
  • Complete clean documentation (photos, notes, checklist, material usage) and maintain a spotless job site on completion

What Makes You a Fit

  • 1-2+ years HVAC installation experience, with at least 1 year leading installs (or acting as the go-to on site)
  • Confident with best-practice install standards: nitrogen brazing, evacuation, charging, airflow basics, and start-up verification
  • You run clean work: straight lines, tight seals, correct supports, and a professional finish
  • Strong communication + accountability (we’re direct, we solve issues fast, we own outcomes)
  • Valid driver’s license + reliable attendance (this is a field leadership role)
  • Ability to lift, climb, and work in attics/crawlspaces safely

Nice to have (not required):

  • EPA 608 certification
  • Duct fabrication/duct redesign experience
  • Experience mentoring apprentices/helpers

Compensation

  • An efficient Lead Installer can easily earn $100,000 at Lamar Heat & Air!
  • Weekly training + growth focus (you won’t be stagnant here)
  • Friday team breakfasts + team-first environment
  • A company that’s serious about trust, accountability, and employee care

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Local legacy: taking care of Tarrant and Parker County since 1981
  • Clear values, real standards: trust, accountability, team over individual, direct communication, growth & development
  • High bar / human culture: “hard on mistakes, soft on people” (we coach, we improve, we don’t do drama)
  • You’ll be respected as a lead—because your work protects our reputation and our customers

Not for you if: you cut corners, blame others, or don’t want to be held to a standard.

Perfect for you if: you take pride in craftsmanship, leadership, and clean installs.

If you’re the kind of lead installer who wants to own the job, build it right, and lead a crew with pride—hit apply.
