Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Commercial HVAC Pipefitter with 3 to 5 years of experience to join our team for a commercial project in Piscataway, NJ.

This project involves the mechanical installation for a new 3-story self-storage facility. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience working at heights, and a proven track record of installing commercial split systems cleanly and efficiently. The primary focus of this role is layout, hanger installation, and running long lineset runs. Brazing requirements will be zero to light, as the focus is on layout, routing, and securing the system. Will be working with and under Foreman supervision.

Core Responsibilities- System Installation: Route and install soft copper linesets for multiple commercial split units across a 3-story facility.

• Hangers & Supports: Measure, cut, and install pipe hangers, trapeze supports, and brackets according to mechanical blueprints and local building codes.
• Layout & Measuring: Accurately measure, bend, and fit copper tubing to ensure clean, professional runs with minimal waste.
• Equipment Operation: Safely operate scissor lifts, ladders, and scaffolding to install overhead piping across all three floors.
• Team Collaboration: Work alongside sheet metal installers and senior mechanics to keep the project on schedule.

Required Skills & Qualifications- Experience: 3–5 years of commercial HVAC pipefitting or commercial installation experience.

• Material Expertise: Proficient in working with soft copper piping, including proper unrolling, straightening, and bending techniques without kinking.
• Tools & Equipment: Must own basic hand tools of the trade (pipe cutters, benders, levels, wrenches, tape measure).
• Safety & Physical Demands: Must be comfortable working on ladders and lifts at heights. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Certifications: OSHA 10 card is highly preferred; EPA Universal is a plus but not required for this specific piping phase.
• Reliability: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the job site in Piscataway.
