    Description

    STAND 8 provides end to end IT solutions to enterprise partners across the United States and with offices in Los Angeles, New York, New Jersey, Atlanta, and more including internationally in Mexico and India.
    The HVAC Project Engineer plays a key role in the successful execution of large-scale and complex HVAC and plumbing construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout. This position is responsible for coordinating project documentation, procurement, Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, change orders, and communication among project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel. The Project Engineer supports the Project Manager in ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards while contributing to overall project profitability and client satisfaction.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Maintain and organize project documentation, including construction drawings, procurement records, RFI logs, submittal logs, and other project records.
    • Prepare, review, and distribute equipment, material, and method submittals for client and design team approval.
    • Assist the Project Manager with material procurement, vendor coordination, and pricing for change order proposals.
    • Prepare and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) to resolve design and construction issues while minimizing project impacts.
    • Distribute RFI responses, approved submittals, revised drawings, and other project documentation to all relevant stakeholders.
    • Review RFI and submittal responses with the Project Manager and project team, and coordinate resubmittals as required.
    • Evaluate the potential cost and schedule impacts associated with RFI responses and design changes affecting the company and subcontractors.
    • Collect, track, and enter Time & Material (T&M) work order hours for pending change orders.
    • Prepare and finalize Time & Material change order documentation upon completion of work.
    • Monitor the status of outstanding change orders and regularly review project progress with the Project Manager.
    • Coordinate the distribution of project information and documentation to subcontractors and suppliers.
    • Support field Foremen with project scheduling, coordination, and daily communication with the General Contractor's supervision team.
    • Coordinate the procurement and delivery of materials and equipment to ensure timely availability at the jobsite.
    • Assist in maintaining project schedules, budgets, and overall project documentation to support efficient project execution.
    Qualifications
    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
    • Strong work ethic with a proactive, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
    • Ability to maintain accurate project documentation and coordinate multiple construction activities simultaneously.
    • Ability and willingness to travel to project sites throughout the Greater Los Angeles metropolitan area.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Project.
    • Experience in HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical contracting.
    • Knowledge of commercial construction processes, project documentation, and contract administration.
    • Professional presentation and client-facing communication skills.

    Additional Details
    The base range for this salary position is $56,000 - $72,000 / per year, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant educati
