Project Manager | HVAC - Commercial Construction Projects
CONFIDENTIAL OPPORTUNITY

The Project Manager oversees all aspects of assigned industrial and commercial projects, ensuring successful completion within established cost, schedule, quality, and safety objectives. This role plays a key part in developing and maintaining strong client relationships to expand customer base and future project opportunities.


Position Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies and processes to meet project goals for profitability, quality, and scheduling.

  • Build and maintain long-term partnerships with owners, architects, general contractors, and engineers to foster client loyalty.

  • Promote all affiliated business units and services to existing and potential clients.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.

  • Lead project kickoff and closeout meetings to ensure alignment and successful delivery.

  • Review estimates, prepare budgets, and manage change orders through negotiation and documentation.

  • Perform or coordinate estimates for plan/spec, design-build, and design-assist projects.

  • Manage submittals, buyouts, contract changes, subcontracts, and purchase orders.

  • Ensure contract administration requirements are completed promptly and accurately.

  • Track, forecast, and report on labor hours, material costs, and equipment deliveries.

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of project contracts, scopes of work, and specifications.

  • Provide leadership and supervision to project managers, assistant project managers, superintendents, and foremen.

  • Review and complete Work in Progress (WIP) projections with project teams.

  • Communicate regularly with senior leadership on project performance, challenges, and client relationships.

  • Ensure all safety and quality control standards are upheld throughout project execution.

  • Collaborate with field supervision to plan and schedule project activities, including contract-integrated project schedules.

  • Partner with the design team on design-build initiatives.

  • Review all contract and detail drawings, fabrication packages, and specifications for accuracy.

  • Oversee vendor and subcontractor invoicing and approve payments as appropriate.

  • Manage monthly billing processes and verify the accuracy of WIP reports.

  • Lead project closeout activities, including final billing and submission of training documentation.

  • Enforce company safety standards and compliance requirements on all job sites.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Skills

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and efficient in managing multiple priorities.

  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.


Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or General Engineering preferred; completion of a qualified mechanical apprenticeship program also accepted.

  • 5-7 years of experience in the mechanical contracting industry preferred.
