HVAC Project Manager / Mechanical Engineer (MEP)
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $100,000 – $110,000/year

Lead the design and delivery of HVAC systems for healthcare, education, hospitality, and commercial building projects while managing multidisciplinary MEP projects from concept through construction.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the lead HVAC/Mechanical Engineer and primary technical contact for assigned projects.
  • Design HVAC systems, perform engineering calculations, select equipment, and prepare construction documents.
  • Develop and review design drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Coordinate with architects, owners, contractors, and internal engineering teams throughout project execution.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and overall technical quality.
  • Participate in client meetings, design reviews, field surveys, and site visits.
  • Review submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and other construction documentation.
  • Prepare project specifications, cost estimates, and bidding documents.
  • Support construction administration by resolving field issues and providing engineering guidance.
  • Mentor junior engineers and ensure designs comply with applicable building codes and industry standards.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5–10+ years of HVAC/Mechanical Engineering experience in a consulting engineering environment.
  • Experience designing HVAC systems for commercial, healthcare, institutional, industrial, or similar building projects.
  • Experience managing projects and serving as the primary engineering contact for clients.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experience performing HVAC load calculations, equipment sizing, and system design.
  • Experience supporting projects through construction administration, RFIs, submittals, and site observations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • PE license preferred but not required
