Ready to troubleshoot the toughest chillers?

At Smart Family of Cooling Products, we’re seeking a technician who thrives on solving complex cooling challenges. If you’re skilled with tools, confident with instrumentation, and committed to safety, let’s talk.

Does this sound like you?

  • You keep chiller systems running through diligent preventive maintenance.
  • You isolate faults quickly, using thermometers, pressure gauges, and other testing devices to zero in on issues.
  • You repair or replace parts efficiently to restore uptime.
  • You understand industrial refrigeration—from refrigerant handling and instrumentation to control valves, motors, motor controls, motor switch gear, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s), soft-starts, pumps, exchangers, filters, and refrigeration controllers.
  • You consistently follow company and industry safety practices.
  • You’re willing to pitch in with other tasks as assigned.

What you’ll do

  • Perform routine service to keep chillers operating reliably.
  • Troubleshoot active systems and resolve performance problems.
  • Install, maintain, and repair industrial refrigeration components and controls.
  • Support customer interactions with clear, professional communication.
  • Be available for overtime as needed—up to 15% per year (no more than 300 hours)—as directed by the client and/or upper management.

What you’ll bring

  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of chiller systems and equipment.
  • Hands-on proficiency with power and hand tools.
  • Confidence reading operation and repair manuals for chiller equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Excellent customer-facing communication skills.

Preferred qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical/vocational training or apprenticeship.
  • Approximately three years of related experience.

Physical requirements

  • Work outdoors as needed.
  • Comfort with prolonged periods in a stationary position.
  • Ability to climb and descend ladders.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
