    About this job...

    We are looking for an experienced Service Technician with a background in commercial facilities, preferably in a full-service high-rise hotel environment.

    What you''ll be doing...

    • Maintain a high level of understanding of equipment capabilities and operations, including central plant systems, air handlers, liquid source heat pumps, booster and recirculating pump systems, VFDs and controls.
    • Able to troubleshoot and correctly diagnose electrical, control and mechanical failures and problems.
    • Understand and stay current on industry trends and changes.
    • Full E.P.A. certification required.
    • Demonstrate an ability to plan, organize, coordinate and execute the overall resolution of single or multiple problems simultaneously.
    • Maintain personal discipline, organization and composure in the performance of work duties.
    • Keep supervisor fully informed of work situations, which will impede your fulfillment of job commitments.
    • Able to read and understand mechanical and electrical plans, and schematics.
    • Electrical circuit analysis capability.
    • Electrical and mechanical component analysis capability.
    • Refrigerant analysis capability.
    • Fluid dynamics familiarity.
    • Air dynamics familiarity.
    • Ability to accurately report problem conditions verbally as well as written in English.
    • Maintain positive and respectful attitude and communications with all hotel coworkers and guests.
    • Ability to maintain personal discipline to fulfill scheduling requirements.
    • Ability to prioritize and execute work activities through completion.
    • Maintain professional quality information files for reference with supervisor on payroll, billing, projects, etc.
    • Communicate all project opportunities to service manager and projects sales representative.
    • Communicate and reschedule all incomplete work with PRM dispatcher.
    • Communicate situational information appropriate customer contact.

    Requirements...

    Experience & Education:

    Must have a minimum of (4) years of relevant HVAC field experience.

    Must have a valid driver's license.

    Must understand and comply with all safety and OSHA requirements.

    Must be capable of effectively speaking and writing in the English language.

    Universal EPA Certification.

    Capable of working alone or on a team.

    HVAC Trade school or college courses a plus.

    Must understand the fundamentals of refrigeration systems, chillers, pumps, air handling systems, duct work and VAV systems, boilers, etc.

    Must understand electrical troubleshooting for both low voltage controls and high voltage power.

    Communication:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Must be able to speak, read, and write in primary language used in the workplace

    Physical:

    • 8+ hours per day; stand and walk frequently throughout the workday
    • Reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and pivot frequently through workday
    • Lift, lower, push, pull, and maneuver up to 75 pounds occasionally
