HVAC Service Manager (Warranty Department)
Job Summary:
The HVAC ServiceManager is responsible for overseeing the start-up and warranty operations, ensuring high-quality service and customer satisfaction. This role involves managing a team of technicians, handling warranty claims, implementing best practices, and coordinating with vendors and internal departments to improve service efficiency.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Lead, train, and mentor HVAC Start-Up & Warranty Technicians.
- Manage scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and warranty procedures.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversee the troubleshooting, start-up, and warranty processes for residential HVAC systems.
- Ensure all heating & cooling equipment is installed correctly and meets operational standards.
- Manage customer warranty claims and service requests, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and manufacturers to stay updated on warranty policies and new technologies.
- Track warranty trends and provide recommendations to improve service efficiency and reduce callbacks.
- Maintain a database of product registrations, warranty claims, and customer service interactions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance processes and improve overall customer experience.
- Provide training and technical support to team members on troubleshooting and service procedures.
- Monitor and report on team performance, identifying areas for improvement.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong technical knowledge of residential HVAC systems.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve HVAC system issues efficiently.
- High-quality organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, associate degree in related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of HVAC field experience, including start-up, warranty, and service preferred.
- Previous managerial, technical, or sales experience in residential service operations.
- EPA Certification: Preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to work in attics and confined spaces.
- Available for on-call schedules and extended work hours as needed.
