HVAC Service Manager Job Location - Lorton, VA
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7am to 5pm, with occasional weekend and evening availability required to support operational demands
Overview: We are seeking an experienced HVAC Service Manager to lead a team of 15 technicians. This role is approximately 80% office based and 20% field based, combining hands on leadership with strategic oversight of daily service operations, budget management, and team development.
Responsibilities:
Drive profitability and customer satisfaction by enhancing revenue growth while consistently delivering exceptional service
Evaluate and schedule service work to effectively utilize manpower and maximize operational efficiency
Develop, manage, and oversee departmental budgets to meet financial objectives
Oversee ordering and allocation of materials and equipment to ensure availability for scheduled jobs
Schedule timely repairs and maintenance for parts to reduce job completion delays
Contribute to research and marketing strategies to help drive business growth
Generate and review performance reports with management to monitor and improve operations
Track and measure inventory, tools, and vehicle usage to ensure accurate records
Instruct and guide crews on proper material use and ensure high quality workmanship
Review payroll records to verify accurate and timely technician compensation
Ensure employees have access to necessary tools that are well maintained and ready for use
Assist in dispatching to ensure the right technician is assigned to each service request
Address and resolve customer issues and complaints promptly
Evaluate staff performance, identify training needs, and provide on the job training and support
Assist in identifying and developing future leaders, including hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluations
Ensure adherence to safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment
Build trust and strong working relationships across the team
Additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of hands on HVAC service experience
Working knowledge of HVAC systems, gas piping, electricity, plumbing, and airflow
Proven supervisory experience with strong communication, computer, and mathematical skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task effectively
Proactive, positive approach with a commitment to high quality work
Strong customer service orientation
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Must pass background check and drug test
Physical Requirements:
Lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
Climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, entering crawlspaces, pushing, pulling, carrying, using hand tools, and performing fine detail work
Ability to drive to various locations as needed
Working in indoor and outdoor environments, including attics and crawlspaces
Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear, in person and by phone
Ability to use hands to handle objects or controls and reach with hands and arms
Regular stooping, kneeling, bending, and crouching
Regular exposure to extreme temperatures and adverse weather conditions
