Position: HVAC Service Technician

Reports to: Field Supervisor and Service Manager

General Job Description:

The HVAC Service Technician will be responsible for making service calls to multi-family and light commercial properties for repair and maintenance. Will make a diagnosis and make repair on site.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose HVAC air handlers and condensers.
  • Responsible for inputting service notes and photos in field service application.
  • Work with Project Manager on ordering parts.
  • Communicate with property management.
  • Keep work vehicle stocked with appropriate parts and maintain accurate inventory counts.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of previous experience in HVAC
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills,
  • EPA certification.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic computer/tablet knowledge.
  • Low voltage troubleshooting.
  • Conventional HVAC system changeout knowledge.
  • Compressor changeouts.

Desired qualifications:

  • VRF, mini split package units training or experience.
  • Experience diagnosing HVAC issues in multi-family apartment buildings.

Essential Physical Functions:

  • Climbing: Ascending or descending stairs. Capable of working on rooftops.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Subject to outside environmental conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat for extended periods of time.
