HVAC Service Technician

As an HVAC Service Technician, you’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain residential heating and cooling systems while helping homeowners make informed decisions about their comfort. You’ll take ownership of your service calls, work alongside experienced home services professionals, and have the opportunity to grow your technical skills and earning potential.

What You’ll Do

  • Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain residential heating and cooling systems.

  • Work on furnaces, boilers, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini-splits, air handlers, and indoor air quality equipment.

  • Troubleshoot electrical, refrigeration, airflow, mechanical, hydronic, and combustion-related issues.

  • Perform preventive maintenance, system testing, safety inspections, and equipment startups.

  • Clearly explain diagnosed problems and recommended solutions to homeowners.

  • Present appropriate repair, maintenance, and replacement options.

  • Obtain customer approval before completing work and collect payment when appropriate.

  • Maintain accurate service notes, equipment records, photos, and follow-up information.

  • Communicate parts, scheduling, and return-trip needs promptly to the office.

  • Maintain an organized vehicle, tools, equipment, and assigned inventory.

  • Protect customers’ homes and maintain a clean, professional work area.

  • Participate in required meetings, technical training, and professional development.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous residential HVAC service, repair, and maintenance experience.

  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.

  • Experience servicing furnaces, boilers, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini-splits, and related systems.

  • Knowledge of refrigeration, electrical, airflow, combustion, hydronic, and control systems.

  • Ability to independently manage service calls from diagnosis through completion.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to explain technical findings and available options clearly to homeowners.

  • Commitment to safe, dependable, and high-quality work.

  • EPA Universal Certification required.

  • Comfortable using tablets, mobile applications, and field service software.

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

  • Ability to perform physical work in attics, basements, crawl spaces, mechanical rooms, and outdoor conditions.
