The Service Technician exists to protect Evergreen clients from discomfort and downtime by owning diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on HVAC systems with “No Surprises” communication.
This is a highly client-facing, decision-driving role. You own the call from dispatch to resolution: diagnosis, options, repair, documentation, and recommendation.
This role is focused on execution, judgment, and ownership. You handle a high volume of calls with accuracy, communicate clearly about options and pricing, and help clients make smart repair/replace decisions without pressure or games.
Responsibilities
- Own every service call from arrival to completed documentation and client sign-off
- Diagnose and repair furnaces, heat pumps, AC, ductless systems, and basic controls
- Perform preventative maintenance and safety checks per Evergreen standards
- Present clear “good / better” options and pricing in plain language, aligned with “No Surprises”
- Document findings, photos, recommendations, and parts in the field system on every visit
- Identify and ethically enroll clients into maintenance/comfort plans when appropriate
- Handle emergency and after-hours calls as part of a rotating on-call schedule
- Maintain truck stock, tools, and PPE; flag recurring issues or patterns to leadership
Requirements
- 2+ years as an HVAC service technician (residential and/or light commercial) preferred
- EPA 608 certification and valid driver’s license
- Strong troubleshooting skills and comfort working independently in the field
- Excellent verbal communication with homeowners, tenants, and property managers
- Professional appearance, reliability, and discipline in following process

Full-time, primarily Monday through Friday, with rotating evenings/weekends and on-call coverage during peak seasons.
Because comfort issues don’t always respect business hours, urgent client needs may occasionally require support outside your normal schedule.
