HVAC SERVICE TECHNICIAN
Syracuse, NY

This is a hands-on field role for an experienced tech who takes pride in doing the job right the first time — diagnosing issues, handling the fix, and representing the company well with every customer you meet. You'll service furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, water heaters, ductless mini-splits, and ventilation systems for a company that's been keeping Syracuse comfortable since 1999. Beyond the technical work, you'll be the face of the company in customers' homes — pitching equipment and service plans using our menu-based selling system, with real commission and on-call pay to match the effort.

THE BASICS

Location: East Syracuse, NY (Syracuse, Parish & surrounding areas)
Pay: $30–$40/hr, based on experience.
Service Area: Syracuse, Parish & surrounding areas.
Schedule: Full-time
On-Call: Rotating on-call schedule; paid at 1.5x for all on-call hours, regardless of call volume

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Service furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, water heaters, ductless mini-splits, air handlers, and ventilation systems in accordance with code and manufacturer specifications
• Perform electrical hookups and thermostat installations, ensuring all wiring is code-compliant
• Handle refrigerants safely — charge and recover systems and ensure leak-free performance
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues efficiently and accurately
• Interpret and follow blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
• Collaborate with apprentices, fellow technicians, and contractors to meet deadlines and job requirements
• Communicate clearly with customers on-site about work performed, findings, and recommendations
• Upsell and pitch equipment, repairs, and service plans to customers using our menu-based selling system (New Flat Rate)
• Complete accurate service reports and documentation for each job
• Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and properly care for company tools and equipment
• Follow all safety protocols and industry codes on every job

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required:

• 3+ years of HVAC service experience (residential experience valued over commercial)
• Clean, valid NY driver's license
• Customer service / sales experience — comfortable upselling and pitching equipment directly with customers
• Universal EPA Certification
