This role is ideal for a hands-on field leader with strong HVAC expertise who takes pride in building strong teams, maintaining safe and productive jobsites, and delivering high-quality projects from startup through closeout.What You'll DoLead HVAC Field OperationsOversee day-to-day field operations for commercial HVAC construction projectsLead and coordinate Foremen, field crews, subcontractors, vendors, equipment, and materialsDevelop and maintain project schedules, sequencing, and manpower plansMonitor field productivity and ensure project milestones and deadlines are metCoordinate HVAC work with Project Managers, general contractors, subcontractors, and other tradesParticipate in project meetings with clients, general contractors, engineers, and project partnersIdentify field challenges and potential conflicts early and develop solutions to keep projects movingDrive Safety & QualityPromote and enforce VMG safety policies, OSHA requirements, and project-specific safety proceduresConduct jobsite safety meetings, inspections, and toolbox talksIdentify and address potential hazards, incidents, and near missesEnsure HVAC systems are installed according to project drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and VMG quality standardsMonitor workmanship and address quality concerns throughout all phases of constructionCoordinate inspections, testing, startup, and other quality-control activitiesManage Project PerformancePlan manpower, materials, equipment, and resources to support project schedulesMonitor daily production, labor productivity, and overall field progressCoordinate equipment and material deliveries to prevent unnecessary delaysReview mechanical drawings, specifications, submittals, and construction documentsMaintain accurate daily reports, manpower logs, schedules, and project documentationCoordinate equipment startup, testing, inspections, punch lists, and project closeout activitiesLead & Develop the TeamProvide day-to-day leadership and direction to HVAC field crews and subcontractorsSet clear expectations for safety, productivity, quality, and professionalismCoach and develop Foremen, Mechanics, Apprentices, and other field employeesPromote accountability, teamwork, and strong communication across the jobsiteHelp identify and develop future field leadersLead by example and foster a respectful, results-driven work environmentWhat You Bring5+ years of experience supervising commercial HVAC construction projectsStrong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, ductwork, mechanical piping, and equipment installationProven experience leading field personnel, subcontractors, and multiple phases of commercial construction projectsAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and construction documentsStrong understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, manpower planning, and field coordinationStrong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environmentProficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management technologyOSHA 30 preferredValid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as requiredPreferred ExperienceExperience leading large-scale commercial HVAC construction projectsStrong hands-on background with ductwork, mechanical piping, HVAC equipment, and related systemsExperience managing HVAC projects from startup through testing, commissioning, and closeoutExperience coordinating with Project Managers, general contractors, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and other tradesProven ability to manage manpower, schedules, and field productivityWhat We OfferCompetitive compensation based on experienceMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and company holidaysCompany vehicle or vehicle allowance based on position and business needsOngoing training and professional development opportunitiesLeadership development and opportunities for continued career advancementThe opportunity to lead challenging commercial HVAC projects in the Charleston areaA collaborative, team-oriented environment where your leadership makes an impactWhy VMG?At VMG, our field leaders play a critical role in delivering the safe, high-quality mechanical work our customers expect.
