Hartford Hospital is one of the largest and most respected teaching hospitals New England. We are a Level 1 Trauma Center that provides cutting edge treatment to its patients. This is made possible by being home to the largest robotic surgery center in the Northeast and the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI), one of the most-advanced medical simulation training centers in the world. When hospitals cannot provide the advanced care, expertise and new treatment options their patients require, they turn to us.

Provides direct supervision and technical leadership for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, repair and reliability of HVAC and mechanical systems throughout a complex healthcare campus. • Work Order & Preventive Maintenance Management - Review work queues; prioritize corrective and preventive maintenance; ensure accurate work-order documentation and closeout; monitor aging work; verify follow-up responsibility; and identify recurring equipment failures.
    • Regulatory, Safety & Healthcare Compliance - Support Joint Commission and applicable healthcare requirements, Infection Control, environmental conditions, pressure relationships, temperature/humidity requirements, LOTO and safe work practices. Maintain required maintenance and inspection documentation.
    • Projects, Contractors & Vendor Coordination - Coordinate contractors, shutdowns, renovations, equipment replacement and vendor service. Review field conditions, communicate operational impacts, verify work and support commissioning, turnover and return to service.
    • Building Automation & Energy Management - Monitor BAS alarms, trends, schedules and system performance. Coordinate controls troubleshooting and ensure changes support approved sequences of operation and reliable environmental control.
    • Emergency Response & Operational Reliability - Respond to mechanical failures, leaks, loss of heating/cooling, environmental excursions and other facility emergencies. Establish priorities, direct response activities and escalate operational risks appropriately.
    • Planning, Reporting & Continuous Improvement - Track department KPIs, manpower needs, equipment condition and recurring failures. Provide recommendations for repair, replacement, infrastructure renewal and capital planning.
