The Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is seeking a full-time (37.5 hours/week) HVAC Supervisor (PCN 106571) for the Connecticut Valley Hospital (CVH) in Middletown.

Position Highlights
Supervise and coordinate HVAC technicians, assigning daily tasks and reviewing work quality to ensure efficient operations
Provide hands-on training and technical support to staff, promoting skill development in HVAC maintenance, repair, and safety practices
Conduct performance evaluations and establishes work priorities to ensure HVAC projects and service calls are completed on schedule
Develop and maintain HVAC procedures, recommending updates to policies, standards, and workflows to improve unit performance
Serve as liaison with internal departments, external agencies, and contractors, preparing reports and correspondence related to HVAC operations
A comprehensive medical examination, including drug screening, is required following a conditional offer of employment. All state employees must comply with Connecticuts Drug-Free Workplace Policy.

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
In a state agency this class is accountable for performing in one of the following ways:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Five (5) years of experience in the trade area indicated by the parenthetical title.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SPECIAL EXPERIENCE
Two (2) years of the General Experience must have included performing highly skilled duties in the trade area indicated by the parenthetical title.
NOTE: For state employees this experience is interpreted at the level of a Qualified Craft Worker.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with technical and industry standards of Water Systems, HVAC / Building Management Systems, Electrical and Plumbing
Experience supervising trade workers in a maintenance and repair setting
Experience planning and supervising projects in a 24/7 residential or healthcare facility
Experience with the Joint Commission, Department of Public Health, OSHA and other regulating body standards for healthcare facilities related to life safety and environment of care
Experience utilizing effective communication skills to include oral, written, and electronic communication
Experience with reading and interpreting specifications, blueprints, and sketches
Connecticut HVAC License (S1, S2, D1, or D2)
EPA Universal Certification (Section 608)
