Job Description HVAC Technician TempExperts is seeking an
HVAC Technician in
Blaine, MN for a full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity. This role supports the day-to-day operation of HVAC and mechanical systems within an industrial/large commercial environment, ensuring equipment runs safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Responsibilities: Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on HVAC and mechanical equipment.
Conduct routine inspections; monitor metering equipment; adjust operating levels to maintain continuous operation.
Identify and resolve safety-related issues; evaluate equipment to prevent potential failures.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair ventilation systems, pumps, fans, chillers, rooftop units, split systems, compressors, and refrigeration equipment.
Utilize building automation systems to monitor facility conditions and system performance.
Recharge refrigerant, detect leaks, and confirm proper refrigerant-cycle operation.
Complete scheduled maintenance tasks using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Respond to work orders and communicate status updates while ensuring compliance with codes and regulations.
Follow safety protocols including lockout/tagout procedures and proper PPE usage.
Use diagnostic tools and instruments to support equipment performance and energy-efficiency initiatives.
Maintain accurate documentation in electronic and/or paper systems.
Collaborate with team members and support site emergencies as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements/Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
3+ years of HVAC/R maintenance experience in industrial or commercial environments.
Ability to work at heights using aerial or scissor lifts.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to pass respirator medical evaluation and fit testing.
Ability to pass a pre-employment substance abuse screening.
Ability to obtain required security access credentials.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to obtain a valid drivers license if required and maintain facility authorization credentials.
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required (no sponsorship available).
Technical degree preferred.
EPA Universal Refrigeration certification preferred (or ability to obtain).
Experience in GMP or regulated environments preferred.
Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and technical drawings.
Experience with industrial systems such as boilers, chillers, cooling towers, compressors, and automation systems preferred.
Experience with CMMS systems (Maximo preferred).
Predictive maintenance experience is a plus.
